Law Library Victoria is the trusted custodian of authoritative legal information for Victoria's judicial officers, legal profession, and community. The Library supports access to justice by providing comprehensive, credible legal resources, and serves a diverse and dynamic legal community by offering education, research support, and collaborative partnerships.

The Supreme Court Library is the library of the Supreme Court of Victoria. It is a unified library supporting all jurisdictions in Victoria, as well as barristers and solicitors, who as members of the Victorian legal profession have access as of right.

The library operates under the name of the Law Library of Victoria, and is established under the Supreme Court Library Rules 2024 (‘Rules’). It is governed by a committee of judicial officers and legal practitioners appointed under the Rules. The judicial officers on the Library Committee come from the Supreme Court, County Court, Magistrates Court and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal. The legal practitioners on the Library Committee come from the Victorian Bar and the Law Institute of Victoria.

The Rules describe the functions of the Library Committee which include the control, management and good governance of the library and the provision of library services to Victorian courts and tribunals and to members of the legal profession.

The Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Law Library of Victoria is Ms Laurie Atkinson who is also the Supreme Court Librarian.
